Hello Beautiful Humans!

This week I'm finally posting the first in my Claire cosplay series inspired by the costume designs form Outlander. I adored the jacket and skirt capsule wardrobe that Claire spends most of the first season, and second half of season 2 in.
I first started this project around February or march of this year and spent time working on it between other projects while I hunted for the perfect plaids to make my skirts out of. I promised myself to work more out of my stash this year rather than collecting a ton of fabric, which meant that this project was made of wool and linen remnants in my stash. I was elated that I had just enough blue wool in this piece because it is an almost screen accurate match for one of the season 1 jackets.
In and effort to conserve more fabric I also pieced portions of the lining. Wouldn't it be amazing if we could get rid of the modern stigmas surrounding piecing. It saves fabric, cuts down on waste, and can help your pocket book towards affording more costumes!
