harvesting peas broad beans and egg plant, update on onion sets we sowed 2 weeks ago

These are early perfection pea variety growing since two months in SJ's garden.

Peas are sow and harvest kind of vegetable which means they need little attention in addition to the watering because these usually grow pests and decease free. Aphids is the usual issue with green peas, i have seen few leaves affected by them but those are getting rid while days getting warmer and not affecting the crop. I thought of leaving these until peas inside grow big but when I pick and chew couple yesterday they got fibrous already and if I leave them then only peas will be edible not the entire pods so harvesting them now.

trellis story: I have used some bamboo sticks and used nylon thread to connect them in different ways to make a good support for plants growing and it worked very well. The cheapest trills ever :)

growing around 20 plants in this container, these can easily grow in medium or large containers and directly on ground, this container has lot of kitchen waste buried to make nice compost, other than that I didn't add anything additionally for nutrition, just watering when required.

you are looking at plants growing in ground without any difference with container growing plants.

as they don't need much attention you don't even feel the time between sowing ans harvest, in no time we can harvest fresh healthy pods

these are broad beans plants overwintered, this is first harvest this spring, these plants will be producing until end of next summer for sure.I wonder whether they will continue to grow next winter too. I sowed another batch to add more production

Egg plant harvest: I was expecting small egg plant size from this plant but these are growing bigger and bigger and even with this size, seeds didn't even form which means these might grow double the size of this if I leave them on the plant. I made a chutney with these egg plants, Thai hot peppers growing and mint which turned out very flavorful and tasty.

I brought update of onion sets we sowed 2 weeks ago, springs started showing up within 5 days, almost 90% of sets stand and growing from what we sowed. I also sowed these sets in another bed for continuous harvest.
