My Work Process/Thoughts:

While working on Moon & thinking about what songs I wanted to do next,
I decided I wanted Windy Day to release on new years.
The energy & feel of the song felt like a good fit for it.
There were a couple songs I wanted to release before it tho so I worked fast lol

I had only looked up the translation of it once long ago so I didn't
really know what it was about (besides the English part ofc)

But once I began to understand it while working on the translation,
it became way more special to me than it already was.


My main intention is always for the verses to appear the way they're being sang. Since I'm
doing both English & Japanese at the same time, that can be especially tricky.

I felt the few translations I did find could be worded/re-phrased a bit better.

So I tried my best for the translation to flow naturally yet accurately as much
as I could, and from my understand of the song.

Overall, this was pretty difficult especially when I notice
similar looking sentences/words would change/have different
meanings depending the context before it...

But! I'm really happy with how it came out. Had I not done this, I don't think I would have
properly understood and appreciate this song as much as I now do.

Excited for whatever Ellegarden may have in store this year!

月』を作りながら、次はどんな曲を作ろうかと考えているうちに、『風の日』を元旦にリリースしたいと思うようになった。
曲のエネルギーとフィーリングがこの曲に合っていると感じたんだ。
でも、その前に出したい曲が何曲かあったので、急いで作業しました(笑)

この曲の訳詞は昔一度調べただけだったので、どんな曲なのかよく知らなかったんだ。
(英語の部分以外は)

でも、翻訳をしているうちにだんだん分かってきたんです、
でも、翻訳をしているうちに理解できるようになると、それまでよりもずっと特別なものになりました。


私の主な意図は、詩が歌われているように見えることです。英語と日本語の両方を同時にやっているので、それは特に難しいことです。

私が見つけた数少ない訳は、もう少し良い表現ができるように感じました。

だから、できるだけ自然な流れで、かつ正確に、私が理解した歌の内容から訳すように努めた。

全体的に、これはかなり難しかった。
似たような文章や単語でも、その前の文脈によって意味が変わったり
特に、同じように見える文章や単語でも、その前の文脈によって意味が変わったりすることに気づいたときは、かなり難しかった...。

でも！出来上がりには本当に満足している。これをやっていなかったら、今ほどこの曲を正しく理解し、評価していなかったと思う。

今年、エルレガーデンが何を見せてくれるのか楽しみだ
