On this adventure we'll take a ferry from Horseshoe Bay in Vancouver to Nanaimo on Vancouver Island. From there, we'll drive west on the Pacific Marine Circle Route towards Port Renfrew, the Tall Tree Capital of Canada. Of course we'll have to stop and admire some awe inspiring trees such as the Harris Creek Spruce, the San Juan Sitka Spruce and Big Lonely Doug, the second largest Douglas Fir in Canada. A big shout out to the Ancient Forest Alliance for all their hard work in trying to protect B.C.'s endangered old growth trees. They've done a great job maintaining an access trail through most of Avatar Grove near Port Renfrew.

Next we head to the Southwestern Coast to explore Sombrio Beach, home to one of the most magical waterfalls that I have ever seen. After watching the cold water surfers for a bit, we hike along part of the Juan de Fuca Marine Trail in the direction of Mystic Beach. We quickly see why backpackers love this wilderness hiking trail through Canada's temperate rainforest.
Watching gorgeous Mystic Falls cascade off a cliff into the ocean is just one of many hidden gems you can find on B.C.'s West Coast.

To conclude our fabulous adventure, we retreat for three glorious nights at Deerhaven Cabin in the quiet hills of East Sooke Park. This place is food for your soul. The ultimate location for well deserved self-care. We booked this gem through Airbnb.

Yaz's Chop Salad rounds out the end of the video with a few outtakes.

This video was filmed at the early stages of one of British Columbia's most severe natural disasters. Rain storms dumped record breaking precipitation triggering devastating floods and mudslides.
In light of the profound loss experienced here in Western Canada, donations to a BC Flood Relief Fund are greatly welcomed. Thank you!
