Dollar Store solar light hack - DIY solar garden lights

This video tries to show you what you can do to Dollar Store solar lights to make them better and how you can make your own from scratch. The idea is to give you ideas and basic information so you can do your own thing.

There are lots of combinations of components that will work. They depend on how much DIRECT sun your panel gets, how many LEDs you use and what value inductor you use. The combo I show in the video is one that works in my yard that gets sun about 70% of the day. The solar lights in the video have been outside for months and are still working great, most days they gather enough power to last all night although they are pretty dim in the morning.

The parts (solar panel, LEDs, inductor and the QX5252F IC) are easily obtainable from eBay or AliExpress and cheap.
