The original Studiologic Sledge had a great concept: marry a state-of-the-art digital synth engine from Waldorf Music with a knob-per-function panel layout based on a traditional subtractive synthesis signal flow, giving you all of the benefits of DSP modeling synthesis without the tedious menu-diving that plagues other digital synths.

Now, with a new operating system dubbed Sledge 2.0, Studiologic and Waldorf Labs have added even more power and versatility with the ability to load and play back user samples either on their own or in concert with the rest of the synth engine. A handy free Mac/PC utility allows you to edit your samples and upload them to Sledge. They've also added some extra performance features, including an Auto Dual mode for easy splits and layers and more granular pitch and hold/sustain controls.
