Uganda National Bureau of Standards and Uganda Revenue Authority have unveiled an e-based pre- export verification of conformity (PVOC) system, which facilitates the clearance of imports and thus reducing the turnaround time.
A selected number of good and motor vehicles that arrive at a point of clearance without a certificate of conformity or certificate of road worthiness, are subjected to destination inspection.
The categories of goods under the PVOC program are: toys, electricals, automotive products and inputs, furniture, food, used products including used motor vehicles among other.
