Be careful! A lot of 0% or low interest credit card companies will automatically set your direct debit amount very low each month so that at the end of the interest free period you end up with a large outstanding balance.
If you have £1000 on an interest free card for 12 months then pay £83.33 a month so that the total amount is paid off over the 12 months. Make sure you call the credit card company to set this up.

The inside track
