The Baháʼí Writings state that until women are provided equal status to men, humanity cannot advance. “Woman must especially devote her energies and abilities toward the industrial and agricultural sciences, seeking to assist mankind in that which is most needful. By this means she will demonstrate capability and ensure recognition of equality in the social and economic equation.” ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, Promulgation of Universal Peace, p. 283

Angella Babirye Cundall is the owner of Lamalo Essentials, an agribusiness that adds value to seeds, using cold-pressed oils to make handcrafted natural soaps, and other personal care products.
Uganda has a strong track in the production of agricultural products and is the most open trading country in the region. 35% of Uganda's land is arable and suitable for growing edible oil seeds and medicinal oil seeds such as neem, sesame, groundnuts, moringa, castor, shea nuts, sunflower to mention but a few.
The seeds are locally harvested in Uganda, where they are working in cooperation with smallholder farmers to ensure conservation of the traditional seed trees like shea nuts and neem trees. Seeds are purchased directly from smallholder farmers mainly in northern and eastern regions of Uganda, working together with the community to promote its well-being.
