Here is a video lesson on how to play jazz brushes at various walking tempos from slow to fast.
I show you the basic strokes as built from part 1 of this series, the brush ballad video. Lots of different approaches are explored and I delve into several techniques for playing fast tempos.
The Play along tracks are from Allan Cox's Meet the Bass Player Series.
The Drums are 1983 Gretsch Centennial.
The Sizes are: 18"x14" bass,10",12",14" toms and a 14"x6.5" snare. The cymbals in this video are all 1950's K Zildjian with a Paiste 22" swish.
There are calf heads on the snare drum and bass drum and remo coated ambassadors on the toms.
