A major breakthrough has been achieved in restoring peace in the riverine (Katcha) areas of Punjab and Sindh as one of the most wanted and dangerous criminals, Tanveer Indhar, surrendered along with his accomplice Zafri Jhappil.

Tanveer Indhar, carrying a PKR 10 million bounty, was known as a symbol of terror in the Katcha belt and was involved in dozens of serious crimes, including attacks on police, kidnappings for ransom, highway ambushes, and mass killings. His surrender came after a successful intelligence-based joint operation conducted by Rahim Yar Khan Police with support from military intelligence agencies in the Rajanpur mountainous region.

According to police sources, a 12.7mm anti-aircraft weapon was recovered at the time of surrender, highlighting the dangerous nature of the gang’s network. Authorities confirmed that more than 230 criminals have surrendered so far, including 19 high-profile outlaws, while dozens of gang members have been neutralized during ongoing operations.

DPO Rahim Yar Khan Irfan Ali Samon stated that all cases against the surrendered criminals will be pursued strictly according to law and merit, ensuring justice without discrimination.

This historic development marks a decisive step toward eliminating organized crime from the Katcha areas and restoring the writ of the state. Security forces have reaffirmed their commitment to completely eradicate the remaining criminal elements and ensure long-term peace for the public.
