From the Ground Up: Rebuilding Agricultural Systems in South Sudan

Описание к видео From the Ground Up: Rebuilding Agricultural Systems in South Sudan

Since 2010, Abt has managed USAID’s flagship agricultural development project in South Sudan, a new country devastated by prior decades of war and ongoing conflict. Under Feed the Future, the U.S. government’s global food security initiative, the Food, Agribusiness and Rural Markets (FARM) project has worked through 731 farmer groups to train and support more than 14,000 farmers in the country’s southernmost region, known as the Greenbelt. The results, as explained by project employees and farmers in the region, are encouraging: better harvests, bigger fields, and the emergence of agricultural systems to get surpluses to market.
