Several viewers of my channel asked for another Mach 3 video. Here it is as promised.

Released in 1998 was the Gillette Mach 3. It was originally silver with black in color and later came in variations of color. The Mach 3 was a top loading three bladed system. The cartridges came with a lubrication strip, a slim soft rubber exfoliating insert below the blades and the blades connected with ease (barely a click). The cartridges were as simple to clean as the Gillette Sensor and Gillette Sensor Excel cartridges. The Mach 3 handle was and is not compatible with the Fusion handles due to the depth of each razors base connection points and due to the placement and design of the top loading connector.

The Gillette Mach 3 M3 Power was released in 2004 (six years after the Gillette Mach 3 release date). The razor took a single AAA battery. Its vibration was said to create micropulses to help for a closer and smoother shave. The price was pretty steep for most at the time.

In this video I will show the Gillette Mach 3 which is the same as the Gillette Mach 3 released in 1998. The way to tell the handle is older is by the grip and cartridge release switch. There is less grip within the mold on the handles rubber components and on the switch itself. In addition the weight of the original handles are a slight bit heavier. I will go on to showing the modern Gillette Mach 3 which has the extra grip on the mold and on the grip itself. From there I will show the Gillette Mach 3 3D, it has a white grip (similar to the Mach 3 Turbo) and a blue 3D ball that gives the cartridge the ability to swivel left to right a bit more (acts similar to the Flexball technology seen on the Gillette Fusion 5 series).
I will move on to show the 2020 Gillette Mach 3 Signature Edition handle. It looks far different than it's predecessors. It's handle is all durable plastic with a gray Gillette logo. All of the described handles have the same connection cartridge connection points and are compatible with the most available Mach 3 cartridges which are available to this day (upon release of this video). Some handles may vary in the angle of approach that leads to the cartridge connection point due to the thickness of the handle itself (like that seen with the Gillette Mach 3 3D). I will continue by showing the Snap-On Ratchet Handle Razor which is just an awesome edition to what my channel contained in past videos. It has a Mach 3 connection so you feel like you are truly shaving with a tool.

In this video I will show a Gillette Mach 3 Sensitive standard handle and Gillette Mach 3 Sensitive Power handle. Both handles have a white with neon green color scheme. The power handle has gray (or silver) color scheme as well plus an emerald colored power button. I will shave side by side with these handles.

I will show how the connection points on the handles are the same. I will explain the weight difference in the power handle compared to the standard handle.

I will be showing a Gillette Mach 3 cartridge next to a Gillette Mach 3 Sensitive cartridge. The cartridges look very similar except for the color variation. Gillette Mach 3 cartridge with its white and blue striped lubrication strip, three blades, light blue exfoliation strip to Gillette Mach 3 Sensitive Power cartridge with its neon orange lubrication strip, three blades, neon green exfoliation strip and the Gillette Mach 3 Sensitive cartridge with its white and blue striped lubrication strip, three blades, neon green exfoliation strip. The blades for the Sensitive cartridges were promoted to use Gillette's duracomfort blades for a smoother and more delicate shave.

It's important to note the power handle in this video replaced the Gillette Mach 3 M3 Power model. The handle in this video was released sometime after 2004 so the yellowing discoloration is a normal chemical process.

Once I received the Mach 3 Sensitive Power package I performed retrobrightening on the Mach 3 Power Sensitive handle for three hours then cleaned the handle, container and weight that was in the over-the-counter hydrogen peroxide (3%). The handle has a higher classification of white plastic so a full 6 hours was not needed. This retrowhitening should last for 2-3 years and may be performed again. Replaced the damaged AAA Duracell battery with a AAA Energizer battery. The razor looks and works like brand new! See my community post for details.
