In Memory of the Late: Juanita "Nenette" Perez

I was once a student of Ms. Perez back in 4th grade. She was my adviser. When I didn't have the courage to stand and speak in front of a crowd, she taught me one important thing that I still live by up to this day - that fear is just in the mind. And with every chance I tried to build my confidence, she was always at the back cheering for me that I can do it.

Miss Perez was truly a dedicated and passionate teacher. She has been teaching in St. Joseph's Academy for more than half of her life - which also means half of her life of being a blessing to the SJA family especially to her students. She was a firm and good disciplinarian. Most of us remember her as the "strict" teacher but little did we know that it was all for our own good. Look at us now - all grown up but still imbued with her great influence of discipline and respect.

Upon hearing about her sudden demise, we couldn't stop the tears from falling down because she was indeed a treasure that has gone too soon. As we mourn over this huge loss of ours, let us take time to pause for a moment and pray for her eternal repose. Let us also pray for her family, relatives, and all the people who are very close to her heart that they may also find peace and acceptance. She may be gone in this world but she will forever remain in our hearts.

Eternal rest grant unto Juanita, Oh Lord and let Your perpetual light shine upon her.
May she rest in peace. Amen.
