Volunteering has long been recognised as a necessary and valuable contribution to our community, but few students realise it’s value on their resume when employers are looking to shortlist candidates. UTAS Career Development and Employment, in conjunction with Tasmania’s volunteering portal Volunteering Tasmania, hosted a Volunteering Expo to coincide with National Student Volunteer Week. Over 20 organisations showcased their various volunteering opportunities, and students were able to mingle, hear volunteering stories and enjoy a sausage sizzle.
