Описание к видео The history of connectivity at Phoenix Contact

► The history of connection technology at Phoenix Contact has been developing continuously for 100 years now. It is characterized by numerous innovations that have had a significant impact on control cabinet construction and have also revolutionized it time and again. With this video, we take a look back at our past and provide an outlook into the future.
• In 1928, Hugo Knümann, the founder of Phoenix Contact, had the idea of arranging ceramic electrical blocks as individual modules on the DIN rail. This was the birth of the first modular terminal block.
• Phoenix Contact produces new terminal blocks made of Duo-Plast. These are not only significantly more resistant, but also more economical to produce. A milestone in the success story of the modular terminal block!
• In 1976 the UK terminal block made of plastic was invented. This material conversion has paved the way for mass production. While the ceramic terminal block was primarily used for the energy sector, the UK terminal block is finding its way into numerous other industries.
• ST technology is the first terminal block with a spring connection. It enables particularly fast wiring and offers a double functional shaft. In addition, the design of the ST rail-mounted terminal block has already set the course for turning individual components into a system at some point. The birth of CLIPLINE complete.
• A really big milestone! In 2009, Phoenix Contact launches the push-in connection technology. From now on, you can connect conductors easily, quickly and without tools. I'll show you how it works.
• Push-X enables direct wiring with rigid and flexible conductors with or without ferrules. Insert the conductor without force to the end of the clamping chamber. As soon as the conductor presses down the locking device, the slide is released and the contact spring snaps shut automatically.
Thank's for joining us on our journey through the history of connection technologies!
