This video describes the operation of the American 8B Transformer made from 1938 to 1952. There are two versions of this transformer. The first version has a power and short circuit lights with a manual breaker reset. The second version only made in 1951 and 1952 has the same features plus a "reverse" push button. I recently purchased 3 of these transformers with the "reverse" push button, and had to replace two of them.
