We get a few tutorials pretty much straight away, one on the enchant wire, one about how Ether is used and then a Ladder Climbing Tutorial. Basically... If something stands out in a dungeon press A and a thing will probably happen. I do like that Atsuma supposedly forgot how to climb ladders.

After these tutorials you'll have a couple of puzzles before the Fire Golem.
You'll notice I don't particularly realise yet that Toya needed to use a specific attack to deal super effective damage against it (the one with the water element symbol). I do however realise the need for him to be out of the way for the more dangerous attacks. Cure Dance, and Items should help, as well as placing Toya behind Atsuma or Makoto as he uses ranged attacks.

Defeating the Fire Golem gives a new Weapon Core for Atsuma and we proceed on to a Frozen hallway. Where we encounter the Queen of Ice. She completely annihilates the party after the first (deliberaltely loseable) fight. Makoto is presumed dead and Toya looks like he's in a lot of pain, but the Queen Of Ice seems to think he'll be able to carry on as her puppet (this is the other main FFVIII allusion I was talking about). It certainly has vibes of Edea x Seifer.
Atsuma survives and takes on the Queen of Ice. His arm reacting as it has done already and during the fight the Queen of Ice comments how Atsuma's arm is able to stop her regenerative abilities. Remember this.

The part ends with the Queen of Ice free and freezing all of Yokohama.
An Atsuma looking creature is seen in a desert area and then Atsuma wakes up in what looks like a prison.
