Lifetime Yukon Angler 116 Kayak with Trolling Motor and Foot Steering - Sea Trial

After a winter in the basement, my Lifetime Yukon Kayak's trolling motor is all installed and ready for sea trials. This is the very first testing that I did on the lake.

I am using a Newport Vessel 32 LB thrust trolling motor and a 40 amp hour lithium iron battery. At full speed the trolling motor draws about 29 amps so I am expecting about an hour and a half at full speed. I will be testing this over the summer and post my findings.

I found that 1st, 3rd and 5th were the best gears to be in as they gave the most thrust. In 1st I was getting 2mph, 3rd 3mph and 5th about 3.5 (this was against the wind). There really wasn't much difference so 3rd is what I plan to use most.
