Building Reading Skills Through Storytelling [RELO Andes Webinar]

From television and movies, to novels and comic books, stories are all around us. A good story has the potential to truly engage, entertain, and inspire its audience. As English teachers, we should harness the power of stories to captivate our students. This webinar will help teachers to structure effective reading lessons that focus on using stories to build strong readers.

This webinar for English language teachers was hosted by the Regional English Language Office at the US Embassy in Peru.

► About the speaker:

▪▪ Maggie Steingraeber currently lives in Lima, Peru as an English Language Fellow, a US Department of State funded program. She works closely with the Peruvian Ministry of Education in the Department of Initial Teacher Training to reform the national curriculum and strengthen classroom methodology. She holds a BA in Linguistics from the University of Wisconsin and a MA in TESOL from the Monterey Institute of International Studies. She specializes in curriculum design and materials development as well as teacher training and educational technology.
