There are a TON of videos about the Helios 44-2 all over YouTube, so when I got my hands on one for the first time, I was stoked! And as expected, this lens has some of the most beautiful character on any lens I've shot with so far. For a decades-old lens with iffy quality control during it's production years, I was NOT disappointed. I still need to get used to a few unique things about the lens (manual EVERYTHING, sweet spot for aperture to maintain image fidelity without flares taking over, and not being dumb and leaving Active IBIS on) but I can't wait to put it through it's paces and find out how well it suits my particular shooting style.

Compared to an ultra-sharp digital photo lens that I normally shoot with, it has the right amount of cinem----er-----FILMIC qualities that I'm looking for from a lens to cultivate my own film style.
