Covered Cars
This series documents parked cars concealed beneath covers — a familiar but easily overlooked sight on residential streets. Each photograph isolates the form of the vehicle as it’s transformed by fabric, weather, and time, turning functional protection into a quiet sculptural presence. The work observes how these shrouded shapes sit within everyday urban space, half-private, half-public, suggesting absence and routine maintenance without sentiment or narrative.

The project recalls Robert Frank’s 1955 image Covered Car – Long Beach, California from The Americans, in which the draped vehicle becomes a stand-in for concealment and the hidden layers of American life. Here, the same motif is revisited with detached precision: the covered car as a neutral surface, an accidental monument to stillness and the unseen.
