I used to often open my set at an open mic with this song. Partly because it only has 4 chords and the strumming is straightforward, so it was a good one to do to get over the stagefright, but also because it simply is a beautiful song. I hadn't heard the song until Neil Young did a cover of it many years after it was written (and many years ago), and to this day his is the only version I'm familiar with.
