In this video, I’ll explain the DOL (Direct-On-Line) Starter circuit using a ladder diagram representation. The DOL starter is the simplest and most commonly used method for starting a 3-phase induction motor directly from the supply.

In the ladder diagram, you’ll see how each component is connected logically to control the motor operation:

1. Stop Button (NC) (I:1/1) – Normally closed contact used to stop the motor and break the control circuit.
2. Start Push Button (NO) (I:1) – Normally open contact used to energize the contactor coil when pressed.
3. Contactor (I:1/2) – When energized, it closes its main contacts to start the motor.
4. Motor (0:2) - Output light / motor running.

Working Sequence:
When the Start button is pressed, current flows through the stop button and coil.
The contactor coil energizes, closing the main contacts and starting the motor.
The contactor closes to hold the circuit, even after releasing the start button.

When the Stop button is pressed, the coil de-energizes, opening the circuit and stopping the motor.
This ladder logic clearly shows how manual start-stop control and motor protection are implemented in a DOL starter circuit.
