Scale models are called as such because they are of a reduced size! The scale indicates the reduction in size from the real size object!

Over the years various subject matters have set on some more define scales however everything is really possible. Here some examples:

Model Aircraft: 1/144,1/72, 1/48, 1/32, 1/24
Armour Models: 1/76, 1/35, 1/16
Model Cars: 1/24, 1/12
Model Bikes: 1/12 1/6
