Darbuka Split-hand Lesson: Pointer-Pointer-Ring-Ring Rolls (Intermediate-Advanced)

Описание к видео Darbuka Split-hand Lesson: Pointer-Pointer-Ring-Ring Rolls (Intermediate-Advanced)

This darbuka lesson teaches the split-hand technique I call “Pointer-Pointer-Ring-Ring.” It uses the pointer fingers and ring fingers on both hand to create rolls of any length.

The principles in this tutorial can be incorporated into any rhythm, so once you've worked on the basic exercises I show here, try it out in all the rhythms you play. And once you've really got it, try incorporating the occasional double-ka into your pointer-pointer-ring-ring rolls to expand your possibilities.

This video is intended for players who already have a firm grasp on traditional Arabic doumbek technique.
