OtterBox Trooper 20 & Trooper 30 Vs Engel HD Ice Retention Test

To date, the Engel HD has been the best soft sided cooler we have tested, more here: http://www.coolersonsale.com/how-to-c... Therefore, this was the perfect cooler to test the OtterBox Trooper 20 and OtterBox Trooper 30 against.

We conducted this ice test in the same fashion as our previous Soft Sided Cooler Challenges. We did this so that the comparison could be made between Otterbox and every soft cooler we have reviewed in the past. The biggest difference between this test and our previous test was external temperatures. The tops of the OtterBox Coolers reached over 100°F during the test. The OtterBox performed well considering the sun exposure and temperatures. We put the OtterBox performance on par with the Yeti Hopper & TOURIT. One big difference between the OtterBox Trooper and many other coolers (both soft and hard sided) is the Trooper was waterproof. When we turned the cooler upside down with water inside, not so much as a drop leaked out. This would be the perfect rafting cooler or for kayak/boating.
