This music is inspired by the story of the witches of Triora (IT). We are in Liguria at the end of 1500 in the Argentina Valley and a climate of tension due to a long famine led to accuse some women of the country of witchcraft. Arrests, trials and torture followed. For this reason Triora is often referred to as "the Salem of Europe".The trial to which the women of Triora were subjected is steeped in pain and despair. The oldest of the tortured women was called Franchetta Borelli and among the statements made by the inquisitors, a sentence stands out:
"I will grit my teeth but they will say that I am laughing ..."
Words that describe the suffering and resignation in the face of the injustices they were undergoing and that Ballard wanted to include in the passage. As a symbolic cameo Ballard involved Antonietta Chetta, a lady of Triora expert in medicinal herbs, who lent her voice to interpret Franchetta.
Argentine singer Maite Ayelen Suarez instead gave voice to the “witches” of Triora, imagined by the composer in a cheerful and bizarre dance around the fire of the Cabotina, an old farmhouse in Triora and meeting place of the witches.To succeed Maite used glossolalia, a non-language made up of words and syllables with no specific meaning but which blend perfectly with music.

A female song, therefore, dedicated to women and which features several artists who have made their talent available for this new work. The song will be published on the 10th of August on the occasion of the "International Day Against Witch Hunting" which is still practiced today in different corners of the globe.
