LEAN LEGO Airplane Simulation Round #1 - The UN-LEAN process

This YouTube video is produced as a supplement to Six Sigma Development Solution, Inc's (www.sixsigmadsi.com) LEAN and Lean Six Sigma Training. We use the Lean Zone® Production Methodologies simulation from Visionary Products USA, Inc. (https://www.lean-zone.com/) to bring the LEAN and Six Sigma Methodology to life.

I want to say thank you to friends and their family that helped me to produce this video. The LEGO simulation workstations in the video are manned by adults and kids. We had a lot of fun with the Lean Zone® Production Methodologies simulation.

This YouTube video shows the process of creating an X-Plane (the LEGO plane with a red rot) through five workstations. The five stations are placed throughout the a production area such that forklifts must be used to move the LEGO airplanes between workstations. The forklifts are played by my two young daughters.

In our LEAN and Lean Six Sigma courses, we use the video to learn tools and methodologies like Flow, TAKT, Pull, Kanban, Value Stream Map, Spaghetti Map, Capability Studies and IMR Control Charts.
