L/S of the Dutch cruiser Jacob van Heemstkerck steaming into Dover Harbour. M/S Dutch Standard at mast head. M/S Jacob van Heemstkerck lying alongside - Dutch sailors lining rails. M/S Dutch marines. M/S Juliana followed by the Duke of Gloucester (Prince Henry). M/S Juliana, Bernhard walking towards train accompanied by Mayor of Dover. Bernhard salutes crowd. They shake hands and board train followed by the Duke of Gloucester. Shots of dignitaries waiting for their arrival at Victoria Station including Viscount Alan Brooke and the Prime Minister Clement Attlee. M/Ss of Alderman Denis Lowson, the Lord Mayor of London. M/S of Lord Fraser and Field Marshall Slim. L/S of King George VI walking onto the platform with Queen Elizabeth (later the Queen Mother), Princess Elizabeth (later Queen Elizabeth II). C/U King over Queen Juliana's shoulder. C/U Margaret - pan up to the Duke of Gloucester. L/S Juliana shaking hands with Attlee, she passes on to Bevin and shakes hands. Several other shots of the royal couple greeting dignitaries. M/S of the royals walking across platform - pan as they leave followed by Duke and Duchess of Gloucester. M/S King and Juliana going away from station. M/S woman looking on. L/S procession led by the Household Cavalry turning out of station and into Victoria Street pan with King's landau. Shots of the crowd. L/S of the procession coming down the Mall. Various more shots of the royal procession. L/S of the Buckingham Palace lit up.
