Scrapped AEG Lavamat Turbo Protex Washer Dryer. L75480WD. Drum Bearing Failure.

After taking this partially apart it became clear that there was no way this was worth saving.
Rust was all over the bottom front plate. and various other places that have got damp from the drawer. Door seal needs replacing, tumble dryer tubes are filthy with fibres from clothes.
It is a nightmare to work on and virtually every part would have to be removed to get the drum out and then all refitted. Scrapped!


The cheapest 9KG Indesit arrives tomorrow at £250
Needless to say we won't be buying AEG again.

7 years in and the drum bearings have failed.
Seriously disappointed to find that this has a sealed drum and the whole unit has to be replaced at a cost of around £180.
No doubt some seals will also need to be replaced at the same time, certainly the door seal should be changed at the same time as fitting a new drum.


Repair or cheap replacement washer????
