You can use the Habotest HT106E to test new and existing mains sockets to check for correct wiring. I also use mine to test new extension leads and extension leads that I have modified to ensure safe operation.

In this review I show you how to use the Habotest HT106E and demonstrate all of the faults it can display. The Habotest HT106E also has a voltage readout enabling you to confirm correct voltage in the wiring.
