Peugeot 308 1.6 HDi Service and Eolys/Pat fluid pump replacement

Servicing a 2012 Peugeot 308 1.6 HDi with the 1.6 HDi 8v DV6C engine.

This is a car my cousin uses. It has had the "Engine Fault, Risk of Particle Filter Clogging" message come up due to a faulty additive pump. Sometimes that fault will come because the additive tank is empty, but in this case, the pump itself had developed a fault. The replacement is shown in this video.

A replacement pump was sourced from another 2012 308 at a local scrapyard for £40, and a bottle of PAT fluid from a local motor factors was £40. I think the kit for the PAT fluid bottles, which allows you to fill the additive tank, was £20 - it was something I got a few years ago. Additive pumps seem to demand a lot more on eBay, with prices over £100 to £300 for new ones. One reason why local scrapyards are still worth visiting is the value and being able to check the car it came from to see if it shows the same fault.

I took a bit of a shortcut when it comes to fitting the replacement additive tank, snipping away the plastic that holds it to the tank. This avoided the need to drop the tank. Frankly, that is a poor design choice to necessitate that. I used a cable tie to hold it back up and, combined with the other parts in the way, it is sufficiently secure and is not rattling.

A few other items were attended to; the car was given a basic service and some bulbs around the back were replaced.
