Indiana Jones Style Gun Belts: 'Raiders' vs. 'Crusader'

The belt on the left is a 'Raiders' style, while the belt on the right is a 'Crusader' style. Let's go over the differences...

The 'Raiders' gun belt is a thicker, darker hide with a rounded silver buckle and four brass studs to hold the metal keeper in place.

The 'Crusader' gun belt is a slightly thinner and lighter hide with a brass buckle and less studs to hold the leather keeper in place.

You can see the major differences in the leather here. The 'Raiders' even offers a decorative, burnished edge while the 'Crusader' displays a raw, unfinished edge.

This style belt should be relatively tight with the right side hanging lower off the hip than the left.

In some instances, Indy would also loop his web belt through the whip strap to hold the gun belt as it was worn relatively loose.
