Sonic Riders 2 - Security Corridor

Security Corridor
NiGHTS
Magic Broom (Yacht)

Apparently, Security Corridor is what results when the defense systems in the Crimson Crater fail. For once, you see a Babylon counterpart that's colorful and happy...I guess because Dr. Eggman is the bad guy, and when bad guys are foiled, things get cheery and uplifting. I really don't see anything about some security system being down, considering that whatever it was never did anything in Crimson Crater...but hey, I like this course.

You can see on the map that this place is less tower-like than Crimson Crater; I guess more of it takes palce in the base area. The main features, other than more jums that lead to walls you need to race up, are a 90º change of direction in at least two different dimensional axes (twice in this course, it goes from wall to ceiling and then a sharp right turn immediately after it), and the ventilation system, which seems to span the entire course and can result in whole laps' worth of shortcuts. They're kind of hard to navigate though.

As like the last Sonic Riders game, Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity also has three SEGA cameos. NiGHTS returns in this one and, despite having been given a voice NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams, remains silent. NiGHTS is the gender-ambiguous guardian of Nightopia in NiGHTS into Dreams... for the Sega Saturn and NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams for the Wii. NiGHTS can fly by simply gliding (and is thus assigned as a Flight character in both Sonic Riders games) and attack through the Paraloop, which involves tracing a closed circle from flying and causing a small black hole to appear in the center for a second. You won't be seeing it here, but yes, NiGHTS employs the Paraloop to attack other racers.

NiGHTS, being a trickster, would probably feel right at home using the Magic Broom as a Gear. It's a Yacht, meaning it begins with Flight characteristics and can gain speed by staying in the slipstream of racers in front, and like all Yachts, has a low top speed to compensate. The Magic Broom's Gear Changes are what sets it out from the other Gears:
20 Rings: Vision Trap
40 Rings: Parts Lock
60 Rings: Status Trap
You might have noticed that all of these Gear Changes are denoted with a black symbol on a red background instead of the white symbols on a blue, yellow, or red background like most other Gear Changes. That's because the Magic Broom's Gear Changes don't upgrade the Magic Broom, but rather, lays a trap on the course when you use the Gear Change.
"Vision Trap" obscures the screen of any racer who rides over it, much like a Blooper, except with transparent colored swirls that distort what you can see.
"Parts Lock" temporarily reverses the effects of Gear Changes from anyone who goes over the trap. During this time, they can't perform Gear Changes either.
"Status Trap" is the equivalent of an attack: Whoever steps on this trap is stuck in place for 3 seconds and must reaccelerate to get back in the race.
They're largely useless against computer players though, as the AI in this game cheats like a politician.
