Ls s10 new motor with some odd surprises

Picked up this 07 lq4 from a buddy of mine that had been pulled in his shop with a blown head gasket

It’s a reman engine from jasper so nothing in it so far has been on par with how it should have came from gm 🤦‍♂️

So far I’ve found it’s .030” over bore with some economical brand pistons
The gen4 rods that usually come in a 07 model lq4 was swapped for gen3 rods
It had a mix matched set of lifters
To top it off I find the cam bearing was installed wrong as well

All in all I’m still happy with it and look forward to upgrading the s10 this fall/winter
