Here I show what happens if you ignore Zhuge Liang's orders and just attack the enemy. All your allies leave, the enemies all enter hyper mode, and you're ordered to one man army the entire enemy force. Which is still faster than doing all that luring and sneaking nonsense. I much prefer to just play the battle this way. Or better yet, not play the battle at all.

Wei Yan also has a unique line if you do this as him, where he says he was right to disobey Zhuge Liang. You also hear some different lines from the enemies.
