Social media offers users a place to post content that interests them. But should the platforms ban content that could be possibly triggering to their younger users? Younger people are increasingly downloading social media apps. The fact that the applications do not strictly police the content that users share is concerning.

There is a push to limit "pro-ana" information, which promotes eating disorders. Users claim that the content is triggering and can lead to the development of dangerous habits. Why are the apps not adhering to their terms and conditions about what is acceptable for users to post?

Snapchat, TikTok, and YouTube executives are speaking before the Senate about the impact of social media on the youth. People are calling on these corporations to be more open about the influence their products have on children and to help better regulate content.
