This is my second video on Uffington. Well this round anyway, the Uffington area is an area that keeps on giving to antiquarians and I am bound to be back several times more.

Please see part one to get up to speed on the issues in this video. The expert consensus agrees with Margaret Gelling on her interpretation of the landmarks. I am not a hundred percent with her but giving her the benefit of the doubt means I can describe to you the Saxon names of some very interesting landmarks.

I also find a flint tool with sharpened edges.

My videos are about decoding the landscape with an eye on what was written by the Saxon migrants from AD700 or so onwards. It would be nice to have older descriptions and there are some but not many.

But above all these are about healthy walks with an eye on history, ancient history and prehistory.
