As the firefighters, rescue squad and paramedics of Chicago Firehouse 51 forge headfirst into danger, the choices they make can mean the difference between life and death. But from the relentless pressure of saving lives, an extended family is forged. Led by Chief Wallace Boden, Matthew Casey, Kelly Severide, and the others know -- when it's go time, Firehouse 51 lays it all on the line for each other. This high-octane drama from Executive Producer Dick Wolf offers an edge-of-your-seat view into the lives of everyday heroes committed to one of America's noblest professions.

Production Companies:
Wolf Films
Universal Television

Starring:
➤ Jesse Spencer (Matthew Casey)
➤ Kara Killmer (Sylvie Brett)

Trivia:
Taylor Kinney and Steven R. McQueen previously appeared together in The Vampire Diaries (2009), where Kinney had a recurring and McQueen a regular role.
Taylor Kinney and David Eigenberg also starred in Five (2011).
Some scenes which take place in the Firehouse 51 kitchen are filmed in the actual firehouse kitchen, others are filmed on a studio set. If you see a door to the left of the cooking area, that is the studio set; if you see a drinking fountain, that's the actual firehouse.
Most departments, Chicago FD included, do not allow firefighters on duty to grow out facial hair on the cheeks or on the lower lip or chin as Lt. Severide often does. It interferes with achieving a tight seal on the SCBA (air) mask as the seal gasket on the rests against those parts of the face. Firefighters with too much facial hair will also fail the mask fit test for the same reason. Mustaches, as seen on Chief Boden, Mouch, Otis and some others, are not technically an issue.

A brand new episode of “Chicago Fire” is only a week away on NBC.
