The biggest challenge will be in deciding what to do with your scraps.

I make Charity quilts and I only use Cotton fabric so anything that is a polyester or blends gets cut up for pet beds and donated to my local animal shelter.

Remember, this is how I do it because this makes sense to me. In your sewing room, you are the ruler and you can make your rules accordingly.

I only cut 1.5 in, 2.0 in and 2.5 in strips from my scraps, I tend to put aside the long narrow scrapes for cutting these strips. I would also look for fabrics that I can cut into 2.o x 3.5 inch rectangles for Potatoe chip blocks.

If the scrap is a smaller rectangle or squarish, I add these to my crumbs bins and those are sorted by color as well for project like EPP and Kawandi quilts.

The only scrap fabrics that I put into my strap boxes is items too large for a crumb but too small for a fat quarter. That way, I don't overwhelm my scrap fabric storage.

If the piece is bigger than a fat quarter, I put that piece in with my yardage by color. My yardage bins are sorted by color into Fat quarters and larger yardage.

If the piece is less than a 1.5 inch width, I put these fabric scraps, in my string bin.

If the piece is less than 3/4 inch wide, I add this to the pet bed bag as it is too small to work with.

Please remember that quilting and piecing is about having fun not feeling pressured! If you need scrap fabrics to make a quilt, you can ask other quilters or quilt guild members and I'm sure they would gladly share some of theirs with you.

I hope this helps you conquer your Mount Scrapmore!
