Kenya | Hells Gate National Park - Walking Safari

Hells Gate National Park is a perfect daytrip away from Naivasha or Nairobi. The very attractive thing for me in this park is the fact that you walk/hike or bike through the park

This allows you experience the wildlife differently whilst getting physical exercise. To the Gorge entrance its 8KM and to the Maasai Market its about 10 KM in total.

Regarding the name of the park there are different explanations the KWS website mentions the park being named after the intense geothermal activity within its boundaries, According to my guide the name comes from the experience from Maasai's who lived close to the Gorge.

Apart from hiking or biking you can camp, rock climb or do a game drive through spectacular scenery including the towering cliffs, water-gouged gorges, stark rock towers.
