We spent 30 days living on Jomtien Beach in Pattaya, Thailand, and it was incredible! If you’re looking for the best budget-friendly beach destination near Bangkok, Jomtien should be at the top of your list. We found a beautiful oceanfront Airbnb with an infinity pool, amazing sunset views, and easy access to local Thai food—all for just $799 for the entire month!

🏝️ Why Jomtien Beach is the Best Place to Live in Thailand

Thailand is famous for its stunning beaches, affordable cost of living, and delicious street food, but we never expected to find a place this perfect. Jomtien Beach, just south of Pattaya, is quieter, more relaxed, and more affordable than some of Thailand’s more well-known tourist spots. We loved how walkable it was, with amazing local restaurants, night markets, and fresh seafood just minutes away.

One of our favorite things about living here? Food delivery in Thailand is super cheap! Using Grab, we had authentic Thai dishes like Pad Thai, garlic chicken, fried rice, and cashew chicken delivered to our apartment for just $15.

🏖️ Exploring Koh Larn – The Best Island Near Pattaya

During our stay, we took a day trip to Koh Larn, an island paradise just off the coast of Pattaya. The ferry ride took about 45 minutes from Bali Hai Pier, and we were blown away by the crystal-clear turquoise water and soft white sand of Tawaen Beach. We spent the day snorkeling, swimming, and relaxing under the sun—easily one of the best beaches we’ve visited in Thailand!

🏙️ Pattaya’s Most Unique Mall – Terminal 21

While exploring Pattaya, we visited Terminal 21 Mall, and it felt like déjà vu—it’s nearly identical to the one in Bangkok! This themed shopping mall features replicas of world landmarks, including a Golden Gate Bridge inside. Thai malls are on another level, offering not just shopping but also incredible food courts, entertainment, and cultural experiences.

🌅 Living on Jomtien Beach – The Ultimate Budget Travel Experience

Every day in Jomtien, we swam in our apartment’s rooftop infinity pool, watched breathtaking sunsets, and enjoyed the laid-back beach lifestyle. The beach by our Airbnb was stunning, though we did spot a giant jellyfish washed up on shore!

This month in Jomtien Beach, Pattaya has been one of the best travel experiences we’ve ever had. Affordable rent, delicious food, beautiful beaches, and easy access to islands like Koh Larn—what more could we ask for? If you’re a digital nomad, long-term traveler, or just looking for a cheap but amazing beach getaway in Thailand, Jomtien is the perfect place.
