Making 1780s Stays for my 18th Century Sarah Sanderson Costume

Hello, Lovelies,
This week we are making Redthreadeds' 1780’s stays! Welcome back to my studio and to the first video in a series of making my Halloween costume for this year. I will be making a Rococo version of Sarah Sanderson from Hocus Pocus! Here’s my original design for this dress, I sketched this back in June of 2020 and bought the silk for it pretty shortly after so this costume is a bit overdue.
First, I am using the 1780s stays pattern from Redthreaded, I made new stays last year and I didn’t follow the instructions to make it have a 2-inch gap in the lacing and now those stays are too big. So this time I bought a size Small instead of Medium and I had Patreon vote on which color silk was going to be the fashion fabric so let's make some stays.
