Nestled along the banks of the Huangpu River, the Regent Shanghai on the Bund offers a serene riverside retreat that merges Shanghai’s rich cultural heritage with refined luxury. From the hotel’s vantage point, a sweeping view spans the historic Bund buildings to the soaring skyscrapers of Pudong, creating a unique Shanghai experience that blends art, culture, and cuisine.

The grand opening ceremony was a two-part celebration, beginning with an intimate ribbon-cutting event in the morning, attended by 30 distinguished guests, including government officials and IHG leadership. Later, 200 guests gathered for an evening dinner event that truly showcased the elegance and vision of the Regent Shanghai on the Bund. With the theme “Beyond the Huangpu River,” the event highlighted the harmonious blend of tradition and modernity that defines both the hotel and its surroundings.

Several notable speakers addressed the guests during the dinner, including Mr. Sidney Hardy, General Manager of the Regent Shanghai on the Bund; Mr. Daniel Aylmer, Chief Executive Officer of IHG Greater China; and Mr. Wang Tao, Executive Vice President of Shanghai Seagull Holdings (Group) Co. Ltd. and Chairman of the Regent Shanghai on the Bund.

The evening showcased a thoughtfully curated lineup of performances, each reflecting the refined elegance of the Regent brand. A captivating light show set the stage, followed by an aerial performer whose graceful movements culminated in the grand unveiling of the venue’s breathtaking views. The night concluded with an elegant ballet performance, adding a timeless touch to the celebration.
