This video highlights some of the terrific wildlife of the Prince of Wales Island area, Southeast Alaska and our extraordinary natural environment. All content was captured in the Tongass National Forest.

The “Prince of Wales Wildlife” channel has been initiated to share wildlife activity and the incredible environment of Prince of Wales Island, Southeast Alaska. P.O.W. Island is within the Tongass National Forest in Southeast Alaska and part of the temperate rainforest that runs along the west coast of North America, from Southern Oregon to Southcentral Alaska. Wildlife here includes Sitka Blacktail deer, Black Bear, Wolves, Beaver, Otter, Mink, Marten, Bald Eagles, Owls and other resident birds as well.

An interest that began with one trail camera years ago has turned into a passion. I am fortunate to live in a place that supports such a remarkable abundance and diversity of wildlife.

Southeast Alaska also supports an array of marine wildlife such as Humpback Whales, Orcas, Sea Lions, Sea Otters and many resident marine birds. We also see a seasonal migration of geese, ducks, swans and millions of shore birds.
