In Act 5, my girl embraced her destiny and took the final step towards her Lich transformation. It was a difficult road with a lot of hard choices that led her down this path. She had to keep reminding herself that the whole reason she accepted this power was to push back the demons and close the Worldwound. This was a sacrifice she voluntarily made.

The process was painful and the last act she had control over while still alive was to prevent Zacharius from killing someone she cared for as part of the ritual. It nearly cost the transformation but it was the last act she would perform as a human who could care.

Becoming a Lich meant obtaining immense power to overcome the demon threat. But at what cost?
