Art critic Hilton Kramer lectures about the increasing lack of tradition in modern art and how this is being reflected in current criticism. Kramer explains how art critics Royal Cortissoz and Clement Greenberg evoked the concept of tradition in their writings, albeit in different ways. Following Kramer's lecture, he speaks with critic and editor John Gross about Western art and tradition, and answers audience questions.
