The Friday Night Funkin' Softmod completely overhauls the game into a story involving BF and Pico in a relationship, instead of BF and GF! BF is an aspiring painter who faces abuse from his parents, Father Fairest and Mother Fairest. Soft BF does not want to be a singer, therefore him and Soft Pico escape to different locations each week as they try and figure out what their next steps are.

Within the FNF Softmod, we meet characters similar to the original Friday Night Funkin' game. Such as Father Fairest replacing Daddy Dearest in Week 1, Mother Fairest replacing Mommy Mearest in Week 4, and Soft GF replacing normal girlfriend in Week 3.
Lemon Demon, or Monster, is replaced by a similar fatherly figure in Week 2 and 5, and Skid and Pump (from Spooky Month) appear as well in Week 2 as their usual characters. I wonder who will be in Week 6 and Week 7 in the future? Could we see Soft Senpai or Soft Tankman possibly?
The mod is split up into "chapters", with Chapter 6 included in the big update soon to come out for the mod. It also will include cutscenes, voice acting, 14 NEW Songs, parent sprites redone, and a bonus side week! The Softmod is one of the most popular FNF overhaul mods and has seen views similar to those like Vs Tricky and Garcello.
The Softmod has a great amount of amazing songs, such as Starcrossed, Hope, Genesis, and It's Compicated. There are multiple parts in the mod that give powerful emotions, such as the Soft BF scream in chapter 5, the dialogue between Soft BF and his parents, as well as confrontation with Soft GF.
As a fun fact, Soft BF is friends with Neo BF and B3 BF from the other Friday Night Funkin mods, FNF Neo and B-sides! These mods have also received big updates which expand the game even further.
I would say my favorite characters in the Soft Mod are Father Fairest (specifically his Lemon Demon monster form), BF and Soft GF, and Soft Pico. Well, that's like 4 characters but really they're all great haha.
