Investigation 10A 2024-25

Описание к видео Investigation 10A 2024-25

The focus of Investigation 10A is on fronts. I begin by describing a set of really nice figures that the AMS provides that show 3-D cross section examples of a cold front, warm front and stationary front. I then spend some time explaining Figure 10A-4, which illustrates both cold and warm occluded fronts. The remainder of the Investigation uses the case of frontal systems draped across the US on March 30, 2024 to illustrate the fronts discussed earlier. I provide a bit more detail here by first revisiting the January 9, 2024 example from Investigation 9B to illustrate the relationships between fronts and precipitation. I then move back to the March case in this Investigation to define drylines and the role that the dryline in the March 30, 2024 case played in triggering supercell thunderstorm development in Texas.
